Union Minister Shri G. Kishan Reddy Visits JNARDDC, Inaugurates Research Facilities in Nagpur
Nagpur, [Date]: Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Union Minister of Coal and Mines, visited the Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium Research Development and Design Centre (JNARDDC), Nagpur, to review its activities and inaugurate two new research facilities—ICP-MS (Critical Mineral & REE Lab) and Macro TGA for the Coal Lab.
During the visit, Shri Reddy also participated in a plantation program alongside Dr. Anupam Agnihotri, Director of JNARDDC. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the significance of the recently approved National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM), which aims to secure a sustainable supply of critical minerals and strengthen India’s mineral value chains. The mission covers key aspects such as mineral exploration, mining, beneficiation, processing, and recovery from end-of-life products.

Appreciating JNARDDC’s research efforts and recycling initiatives, Shri Reddy encouraged the institute to contribute innovative R&D projects in the field of critical minerals to support India’s growing requirements.
In recognition of excellence, he awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to JNARDDC’s four-member team, which secured the 1st position among 22 teams in the prestigious Kashmir to Kanyakumari (K2K) Cycle Race Across India 2.0, sponsored by Indian Oil. The team covered an impressive 3,758 km in the Asia’s longest cycle race.

Following the JNARDDC visit, Shri Reddy also reviewed the functioning of Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited (MECL) and Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM).
