Mumbai : Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava has had an incredible run at the Box Office. Released on February 14, 2025, the film has already crossed the Rs 500 crore mark and is the highest-grossing film of 2025 so far. The film, directed by Laxam Utekar, is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj with Vicky Kaushal, Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles.
Chhaava flew past Deepika Padukone’s movie Padmaavat‘s highest-grossing historical epic title at the Indian box office and became the biggest Indian grosser globally in this genre. The film has been having a glorious run at the charts and the makers are yet to release the film on digital streaming platforms. Taking piracy as a serious offence, an FIR has been registered. Here is what you need to know.
An FIR has been filed with the Mumbai Police against a whopping 1,818 links through which Chhaava has been circulating online. The FIR was filed by Rajat Rahul Haskar, the CEO of August Entertainment, an anti-piracy agency appointed by Maddock Films.
An official stated, “Our probe has found that unidentified persons have created 1,818 internet links to circulate the film, thereby violating copyright laws and also impacting its theatrical distribution. Cyber police as begun tracking down IP addresses of these links.”

Amid this, the makers announced that Chhaava will be screened at Rs 99 on Friday, March 21, 2025. “We’re humbled by your love!
