July 26, 2025, the National Service Scheme, in collaboration with the Mechanical Engineering Department and Aeronautical Engineering Department, celebrated Vijay Kargil Diwas at Building No. 03, Kirloskar Hall. The event began with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, attended by Dr. Pratik Ghutke, Dean R &D and Prof. Anup Bagade, Dean, Skill Development Cell, followed by a floral tribute to the Kargil war martyrs.
Dr. Neerajkumar Wayzode delivered the opening remarks, and a two-minutes silence was observed in honor the Martyrs. In his speech, he had mentioned the importance of Kargil Diwas and to honour the bravery of Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Kargil War of 1999. The celebration also featured a cultural dance performance and even a tribute wall was dedicated to them where students, faculty, and guests shared their memories and messages.
A poster competition was held, which was evaluated by Dr. Pratik Ghutke. The winners were Miss. Janhavi A. Sheware (1st prize), Aeronautical Engineering Department., Miss. Tejashwini Walde (2nd prize), Aeronautical Engineering Department. and Miss. Sayali Rakane (3rd prize), Electrical Engineering Department.
The program was concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Jonna Naresh and was coordinated by Prof. Praful R. Randive,NSS Program Officer, Prof. Rupali Mohabiya (AE) with Prof. Namrate Yerne(EE),Prof.Shweta Hedau(CSE), ProfShrutika Nitnaware (ME), Prof. Praful Date (ME), Dr. Deepak Paswan (ME), Dr. Satyendrakumar (ME) and Mr. Roshan Amnerkar .The Program anchored by NSS Volunteer Mr. Krishna Khandare and Miss. Sharayu Shendre.
