Wednesday, 5th August 2024, the Department of Mechanical Engineering organized the Guest lecture delivered by Dr. Bharat Suryawanshi, Asst. Controller of Patents and Design, Nagpur, on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) & Patent, Designs filing “.
The program was divided into three sessions: 1. Inauguration 2. Guest lecture on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) & Patent, Designs filing “. 3. Question-Answer session followed by feedback.

The session was conducted by Dr. Bharat Suryawanshi, Asst. Controller of Patents and Design, Nagpur, a renowned expert in the field of IPR, who emphasized the significance of protecting creative and innovative ideas through proper legal channels. The lecture covered key aspects of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and industrial designs, with a special focus on the process of filing patents and design registrations.
The speaker also discussed recent trends in IPR, the importance of safeguarding intellectual assets, and the steps involved in filing for patents and designs. Through real-world examples and case studies, the lecture provided a comprehensive understanding of how intellectual property can be leveraged for competitive advantage and economic growth.
Students were encouraged to ask questions and engage in discussions, making the session interactive and informative. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the speaker’s efforts in enlightening the attendees on such a crucial subject.
