Guest Lecture on Recent Trends in Animal Tissue Culture Organized at Tulsiramji Gaikwad-Patil College
Nagpur, January 25, 2025 – The Department of Biotechnology Engineering at Tulsiramji Gaikwad-Patil College of Engineering and Technology, Nagpur, successfully organized a guest lecture on Recent Trends in Animal Tissue Culture. The event featured Dr. Neha Yadav Nath, Assistant Professor at C.K. Thakur College of Arts, Science & Commerce, New Panvel, Mumbai, as the chief guest and expert speaker.

The program commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony in the presence of Dr. Neha Yadav Nath, Dr. Rohit Kalnake (HOD, Biotechnology Engineering), faculty members, and students.
During the lecture, Dr. Neha Yadav Nath provided valuable insights into various aspects of animal tissue culture, including:
- Recent methods in tissue culture
- Advancements in cancerous cell line cultures
- New techniques in insulin production
- Emerging technologies in the field
- Medium fabrication based on cell type
- Modern tools and innovations in animal tissue culture
The session proved highly beneficial for students, enhancing their understanding of different culture media and cell lines. They also learned best practices for preventing contamination and maintaining cell viability, along with essential skills for handling and sustaining cell cultures.
The department extended heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Neha Yadav Nath for her insightful sessions and expert guidance. The event was made possible with the continuous support of Hon. Dr. Mohan Gaikwad-Patil (Chairman, GPG), Hon. Akash Gaikwad-Patil (Vice-Chairman), Hon. Dr. Sandeep Gaikwad (Treasurer, GPGI), Hon. Dr. P. L. Naktode (Principal), Hon. Dr. Pragati Patil (Vice-Principal), Dr. Radharam Shaha (Dean, Academics), and Prof. Ritesh Banpurkar (Dean, IQAC).
